What Is Chloroprene?
Comfort and Fit
Chloroprene provides both comfort and fit. These gloves are designed with the typical use of disposable gloves in mind, offering improved elasticity and an excellent fit. Its chemical properties enable a superior fit due to a lower modulus, which is a key factor in measuring quality, comfort, and performance. A lower modulus allows for greater softness and flexibility—the softer the glove, the more elastic it is—enhancing performance while reducing hand fatigue.
Stretch and Strength
Chloroprene, due to its chemical structure, is very similar to natural rubber and shares many of the same characteristics—flexibility, tensile strength, and durability. In fact, chloroprene's elongation and tensile strength exceed those of nitrile and are only slightly lower than natural rubber, making it an excellent alternative for users seeking latex-like performance without the risk of latex allergies.
Barrier Resistance
Chloroprene gloves are the result of extensive research and development, designed to provide reliable protection against toxic chemicals, abrasive and corrosive substances, as well as various infectious and harmful materials. They have been tested by independent laboratories and meet both EN and ASTM standards for tear and puncture resistance. Additionally, chloroprene gloves are FDA 510(k) approved for medical use.
